The project's site is situated in an urban populated area that is bordered from all sides from 4- levels residential buildings. Essentially this site is an open space between very limited and specific boundaries of urban structure.
The main concept for the proposal is to create a reverse "radiography" of this constructive
area by giving emphasis on freedom of shape and form and unlimited movement of the terrain. This also will reinforce the contrast between the under study open public space and private residential area. We visualize the competition's site as a volcano's process. We are inspired by this process because it has a double meaning which make rather unique.
First of all the volcano symbolizes the soil destruction of the flowing morphology and changing the landscape into free shapes and forms. And second, the volcano expresses the fertility of natural vital elements such as water and green. The terrain itself is a structure like a flowing skin that generate from the core of the volcano. Finally it represents a "scenographic" topography with the lighting "sparkles" elements.
Furthermore the design for the park is organized in 5 layers:
1. terrain morphology
Terrain morphology will take free shapes and curves alike the landscape which is created by flowing lava of an active volcano. The purpose is to create different levels of this flowing terrain that don't have anymore the properties and the appearance of the previous land much more of the buildings around. By this contrasting designing language would be able to accomplish a converse reflection of the urban structure of site position.
2. water element
The movement of terrain as lava process will create low and high levels of the land. The lower levels represent the water level, as the hollow spots on lava landscape. This water spots is the first element connected with land just as in the cycle of life.
3. green element
The green elements are the main element of the project. It represents the vitality of the landscape proposal and it is organized in two groups, the low green elements: bushes and flowers and high green elements: trees. The chosen plans for the project are placed in way that creates a harmony of colours in different seasons but also it gives the opportunity to create shade on hot summer days.
4. wood element
The element of wood is another eco-friendly element that is used to design the resting area of the park (benches). Purposes of this choose was to keep the visitors in natural environment as possible and also create different spots to rest and enjoy the view.
5. lighting
The lightening elements are the final layer of the proposal and symbolises the heat power of volcano activation but also the energy force of the park and eventually life itself. Furthermore it is designed in a way to represent a scenographic view of sparkles flashes of volcano's explosion.
