Workshop of art with hall of multiple actions in the old warehouses of the military area in Karditsa town

In the existing warehouses, linear and ground floor buildings, are installed the artistic workshops of the municipality, which are organized into four distinct groups and are enriched. These are:  laboratory of 'image -sound', 'object', 'earth' and 'body'. At the same time, a new wing is being constructed, to the standards of the retained warehouses, for the fourth laboratory. Furthermore, it is developed a group of shops where visitors can buy the produced products, objects or traditional food. Point reference of all activity is the new hall of multiple actions with its foyer-restaurant. All existing and new constructions are tightly organized around two squares:  the square of 'entertainment' and the 'green' one. The metal construction of the hall may be opened by mechanical means in the ground floor so that can be joined the closed space with the square of 'entertainment'.

The aim of this study is to create a stable and permanent relationship between the user and the rural character of the town. Engaging young people and other social groups with the land can be also an response to the economic and social crisis in the region.
