Re-thinking Shanghai 2012
The registration deadline for the architectural competition Re-thinking Shanghai 2012 is open until 1st march 2012, which is organized from the architectural office 10 DESIGN.
The purpose of the competition is to create a dialog with new technologies and green design in Asia. The competition's project is located in shanghai. Its purpose is the design of a architectural intervention along Suzhou Creek river. The intervention is urban scale and covers an area of 150.000 square meters, where residential use, office and commercial uses will be contained. The general program, the ratio and the density of the intervention is upon the competitors. Urban spaces and green area is necessary to be predicted.
A basic criterion for the choice of the architectural solutions is creative ideas, which concentrate on energy production, air cleaning and water pollution. The submissions will be evaluated according to the quality of the architectural idea and its consequences in Shanghai town.
The winner of the competition is given a chance of a 3mnth occupation in the architectural office 10 DESIGN department either in Hong Kong or in Shanghai. In addition, exhibition with the entries and the other submissions, will be realized not only in both cities, but also in universities and architecture schools worldwide.
