Aris Georgiou

Aris Georgiou (Cirriculum vitae)

Aris Georgiou was born in Thessaloniki and graduated from Anatolia College in 1982. During his high school years he was privately tutored by two practicing architects and developed his architectural interests early on.

In 1985 he completed the Biennio studies at the Universita Degli Studi Di Firenze, Facolta di Architettura, in Florence, Italy.

In 1987 he joined the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture program and soon became the apprentice of William Wesley Peters, an M.I.T. engineer and architect, who was Frank Lloyd Wright's first apprentice, right-hand engineer, and head of the office after Wright died in 1959.

He received his Bachelor of Architectural Studies in 1991, and his Master of Architecture in 1994, majoring in organic architecture and ecological design. He became a voting Senior Fellow of the Frank Lloyd Foundation in 1996, Assistant Dean for Curriculum in 1998 and Director of Curriculum in 1999. He also taught three design courses.

In 1994, he worked at PM+A and participated in the design of numerous buildings, including the American College of Thessaloniki projects.

Between 1995 and 2000, he also worked with Taliesin Architects, as well as graphic designer for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Between 2000 and 2005, he worked at a technology-focused, marketing firm in Portland, Oregon, where he developed Web-based marketing campaigns for large investment institutions, while he trained in high-end graphic design and Web development solutions.

In 2005 he worked on the PM+A Web presence and site (www.pmakridis.com) and participates in the design work of the office  when he visits Greece.

In 2006 he returned to Taliesin as Core Faculty, where he teaches architecture studios, graphic design, and design theory. He has been guest critic and lecturer in various architecture schools: Beloit College, Boston Architectural College, Carnegie Mellon University, Arizona State University, Berlage Institute, Democritus University of Thrace Dept. of Architecture, among others.
