Maria-Eleni Vogiatzi was born and grew up in Karditsa, Greece. She was inducted 12th in rank at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), from where she graduated in 2009 with a 1st Masters: 8, 77 out of 10. During her studies, she studied for one academic semester (Spring 2007) at the Institute of Urbanism in Paris (University Paris 12- Val de Marne) under the Erasmus-Socrates Programme. She continued her studies at the Postgraduate Program of NTUA, "Architecture-Design of Space", in the direction of Urban and Regional Planning, having been awarded scholarships from the Foundations: "Alexandros S. Onassis" and "Propontis". She graduated in 2012 with a 2nd Masters: 9, 50 out of 10 (Excellent).
Throughout her postgraduate studies at the School of Architecture, she was employed at NTUA as an Assistant at Sector IV. Furthermore, she worked -as an intern- for the Construction Company "J&P-Avax SA", Auction of Public/ Private Projects Department. More recently (2013) she participated in the European program "Leonardo Da Vinci" under the project "Bioclimatic interventions to buildings and public spaces". Through this program she worked for a six-month period in Perpignan (France) for an Urban Development Consultancy (INFO Concept) and an Architectural office (Atelier Lionel Floch).
She has taken part in several architectural and graphic design competitions, and she has also participated in workshops of architecture and landscape in Greece and abroad. The questions of habitation and public space -with their social implications- are among her closest interests. She understands architecture as an integral unity that encompasses a very broad spectrum of activities and reflection, while at the same time constituting an inexhaustible source of inspiration, consideration and creativity. Additionally, she considers language and words as an indispensable tool for every architect to express himself/herself and to design.
