Memos Philippidis (1967, Athens) is an architect (diploma of Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens, Master in Architecture Yale University). He has been working since 2001 as an architect together with architect Marita Nikoloutsou and at the same time he has been publishing essays on architecture and art. Their architectural works have been published in Interni, Archis, Blueprint, Stauba and Metapolis magazines. Memos Philippidis has been contributing articles on architecture and design for the Greek newspaper To Vima. He has curating exhibitions. Co-organizer or the architectural lectures of the cultural initiative entitled Megaron Plus at the Athens Megaron, a series that has already included lectures by Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, Roman Delugan, Massimiliano Fuksas, Wolf Prix and Mario Botta. Curator of the international architectural exhibition Big Brother: Architecture and Surveillance at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (2002). Curator of the architectural exhibition +-40: Athens Now (2003) on the work of 22 leading Greek architects, an exhibition held at RIBA, London. Curator of the architectural exhibition Invisible Hotel www.invisiblehotel.com (Athens, Salonica, New York, 2005-2006). Curator for "The Education of an Architect" (3 rooms exhibiting architectural projects by 6 students within the annual show Visions 2006 by Gallery Kappatos, Athens). Guest curator for the first national participation of Cyprus (2006) for the 10th Architectural Biennale in Venice, invited by the chief curators Rena Sakellaridou and Morfo Papanikolaou.
